About the Author
Dr. Jim Longobardi grew up in Long Island, New York, and spent summers in Little Italy, New York City. Driven to become a doctor since the age of eight, he began his medical journey as a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy. Following an honorable discharge, he earned his Physician Assistant certification from George Washington University, then practiced in neurosurgery and orthopedic trauma before graduating from Des Moines Medical College of Podiatric Medicine in 1989. He has since practiced in San Diego for over 35 years and earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2006. Dr. Longobardi is an active member of the medical staff at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista, CA, where he has served as Chief of Surgery and Medical Director.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Longobardi enjoys photography, jazz, baseball, and fitness, and resides in the San Diego area with his family, dogs, and cats.
