Hoffenmer, Inc. Announces Key Updates on DOT Compliance Regulations and Filing Deadlines
Hoffenmer, Inc., reveals important updates on critical regulatory changes and filing deadlines.

Hoffenmer, Inc., a leading name in U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) application processing, has announced significant updates on critical regulatory changes and filing deadlines. As part of its commitment to supporting motor carriers, Hoffenmer provides valuable resources to help businesses remain compliant and avoid potential penalties.

“The FMCSA has introduced the Clearinghouse II regulation, set to take effect on November 18, 2024,” says the spokesperson for Hoffenmer. “This new rule enhances the tracking of commercial driver’s license (CDL) holders’ drug and alcohol violations. Hoffenmer offers a dedicated portal, rtddriver.us, simplifying the Return-to-Duty process. Drivers are encouraged to act promptly to avoid license downgrades.”

Under the regulation, state driver licensing agencies must downgrade commercial driving privileges for drivers with a ‘prohibited’ status due to violations. These drivers will be prohibited from operating commercial motor vehicles until they complete the Return-to-Duty process.

The deadline for filing Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) for 2025 was December 31, 2024. Enforcement will begin on January 1, 2025. Hoffenmer’s UCR filing portal, ucrportal.us, provides a user-friendly platform for completing the process efficiently.

Following a federal Court of Appeals decision on December 23, 2024, the Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) filing requirement under the Corporate Transparency Act has been reinstated. The Department of the Treasury has adjusted deadlines and introduced certain exemptions to account for time lost due to the preliminary injunction.

Companies created or registered before January 1, 2024, must file by January 13, 2025.

Companies created or registered between September 4, 2024, and December 23, 2024, must file by January 13, 2025, or within 21 days of December 31, 2024. New companies created on or after January 1, 2025, must file within 30 days of their creation or registration.

Hoffenmer’s online portal, boiapplication.us, offers a streamlined BOI filing process to help businesses stay compliant. Early filing is strongly recommended to avoid potential delays.

Recognizing the importance of workplace safety, Hoffenmer now provides a Safety-Sensitive Function Employee Safety Policy tailored for companies employing CDL drivers. This policy ensures businesses meet FMCSA regulations while promoting a safer working environment.

Details about the new policy can be found at dotpolicy.us. Companies are encouraged to implement the policy to enhance their safety protocols.
