About the Author
Anthony Gurley is a storyteller of depth and reflection. Born in public housing in eastern North Carolina, he faced early adversity, including the absence of his father. Despite these challenges, he excelled academically and later served for 30 years as the Director of Financial Aid at Guilford College before founding Mo-T-Vation Ministry, a program supporting Christian student-athletes and artists. Throughout his life, Gurley has battled self-doubt and a struggle for self-worth—wounds that shaped his journey and ultimately fueled his memoir. Today, he shares his story not as a celebrity but as an everyday man whose experiences resonate with anyone who has questioned their place in the world.
