National Key Research and Development Program of China Launched: Risen Energy Leads Breakthroughs in Green Energy Technology

April 08 17:06 2025

April 8, 2025 – Recently, the kickoff meeting and implementation plan review for National Key Research and Development Program of China titled “Key Technology Development and Application Demonstration of Low-Cost Metallization Materials for High-Efficiency Photovoltaic Cells”, under the “High-End Functional and Intelligent Materials” was successfully held in Ninghai, Ningbo. The project is led by Risen Energy Co., Ltd. as the principal implementing entity.

Attendees included distinguished guests such as Wang Shu, Deputy Director of the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology; leading experts like Professor Liu Mingzhen from the UESTC, Professor Zhang Shichao from BUAA, Wang Haibei, Beijing General Research Institute of Mining &Metallurgy, and Professor Huang Yunhui from HUST; as well as industry representatives including Wu Xuegang, President of Risen Energy, and Dr.Yang Pochuan, CTO of Risen Energy, Principal Investigator of the Project. Together, they witnessed the official launch of the project.

At the meeting, Deputy Director Wang Shu emphasized that government departments would provide high-quality services to ensure smooth project implementation. He expressed hopes that Risen Energy, as a leading enterprise, would leverage its strengths to drive Ningbo’s pioneering role in the national new energy sector, fostering industrial agglomeration and bolstering regional economic growth through technological innovation. Wu Xuegang, President of Risen Energy, pledged to integrate industry-academia-research resources, tackle core challenges in metallized electrode materials, and ensure the project’s high-quality delivery through rigorous coordination and goal-oriented execution.

Dr. Yang Pochuan, along with four other sub-project leaders, presented detailed technical roadmaps, milestones, and implementation plans to the expert panel. Following in-depth discussions, the panel of experts unanimously endorsed the proposal, commending its focus on “low-cost, high-efficiency” objectives, clear task breakdowns, and rational resource allocation. This approval marks the project’s official transition into the implementation phase.

The National Key R&D Program project aims to address two critical bottlenecks in high-efficiency photovoltaic cells: the high cost of metallization materials and the scarcity of rare elements used in existing technologies. Over a three-year period, Risen Energy will collaborate with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, NingboTech University, Feiyi Optoelectronics, and other partners to advance five key research tasks. By pooling expertise and resources, the consortium seeks to achieve technological breakthroughs and drive industrial upgrades in the photovoltaic sector.

The successful launch of this project reaffirms Risen Energy’s pivotal role in national-level R&D initiatives. Moving forward, the team will adhere to the principle of “innovation-driven, collaborative problem-solving”, leveraging milestone-driven progress to propel cutting-edge research and solidify China’s leadership in the global race for scientific and technological excellence.
