The Music Works, a primarily community-focused and not-for-profit music education company, has recently seen a new location added to their already thriving business.
With streaming revenue in the UK topping over 1 billion pounds for the first time in 2025 and growing by 4.8%, the music industry in the UK is ever growing (source: https://google.co.uk). One local music school is riding the wave of success its created.
The renewed passion for vinyl, record-breaking music artists, and the ease of creating music-related content on popular streaming platforms all highlight that the music industry is here to stay. The Music Works already has two well-established music schools in Godalming and Haslemere, and due to popular demand, a third music centre opened just two months ago in the large and thriving town of Guildford.
Their music school in Guildford boasts state-of-the-art equipment and highly experienced tutors with decades of teaching expertise, all within a fun, creative, and community-focused environment that has helped the business go from strength to strength. With a diverse audience, including disabled and SEN learners, as well as many others, the school truly embraces an open-door policy for everyone.
When it comes to learning music, The Music Works is the ULTIMATE destination for aspiring musicians of all levels—from beginners to advanced players, it truly doesn’t matter. Teaching in a wide range of popular instruments and priding themselves on offering lessons that are both fun and effective, director Kyle MacKenzie says –
“It’s been a rewarding journey so far, but there’s still so much good we can achieve together. Every day, we see the positive impact we are making in people’s lives. When The Music Works was created, there was a need in our community for a music school that could provide a safe space for many and create a lasting impact on people’s lives.”
He went on to say, “It’s our goal to help our community experience music in a positive way, whether it’s listening, learning, practicing or performing. We are so confident in what we do that we even offer any new student a completely FREE, no-risk first music lesson. This has made a tremendous difference to our growth because we find once a child or adult tries a free taster lesson with us, they never look back! It’s a large part of why we now teach over 1000 students every week in Surrey and recently won Music School of the Year. With three dedicated music schools in Surrey and working with local schools, we love the fact that we bring a smile to so many people’s faces every week. Our wonderful students, parents, teachers and partner schools have my heartfelt thanks, without you our community would not be as vibrant and special as it is today! I look forward to seeing what we can build together in the coming years.”
The Music Works is a community-focused, not-for-profit music school offering lessons in many of today’s most popular instruments and continues to grow every day.
