Tell us about The Girl On Pointe Passion & Deceit Book Two.

Seventeen-year-old ballet prodigy, Sarah Rothman, is on the brink of stardom… until danger strikes.

Handpicked by world-renowned danseur, Yuri Konstantinov for a groundbreaking new ballet, her debut is suddenly threatened when Yuri, a recent defector from the U.S.S.R., is accused of attempted murder. The scandal rocks the dance world, but when Yuri is freed, Sarah takes the stage and becomes an overnight sensation.

Yet, success comes at a price. Envious dancers in her company conspire against her, determined to bring her down. Her powerful attorney boyfriend, David Katz, adores her, but his high-society family clashes with her spirited and opinionated Ukrainian one. As Sarah struggles to balance love, ambition, and family expectations, terrifying visions of a dead man haunt her.

With the wisdom of her devoted housekeeper, Mrs. Yee, Sarah searches for answers in a city where fame and danger go hand in hand. As secrets unravel and tensions mount, she must decide: will she risk everything for the life she’s always dreamed of, or will the ghosts of her past steal her future?

A gripping tale of ambition, passion, and mystery, The Girl On Pointe Passion & Deceit Book Two is set against the dazzling and cutthroat world of 1960s New York ballet.

What inspired you to write The Girl On Pointe Passion & Deceit Book Two?

As a former dancer in New York City, I lived the exhilarating highs and lows of the ballet world. Many of my friends were young, ambitious dancers navigating the same path—some struggled and failed, and a handful succeeded and became stars. In The Girl On Pointe Passion & Deceit, Book Two, I drew from the events in 1965 that shaped not only my life but the lives of those around me.

The mid-1960s was a transformative era for ballet. Just two years earlier, a male Russian dancer made headlines by defecting in Paris while on tour with the Leningrad Ballet, ending up dancing with the Royal Ballet in London.

To this day, the anticipation of opening night—the hush before the curtain rises, the surge of adrenaline—still thrills me. It’s that passion and magic that I bring to life in my storytelling.

How did your background and experience influence your writing?

I’ve been married twice and widowed twice, so I’ve been deeply cherished and loved. This unique experience has given me insight into the complexities of love, relationships, and human nature, which I’ve woven into The Girl On Pointe Passion & Deceit, Book Two. In the story, two passionate romantic leads compete for Sarah’s heart, while a third character—someone I observed in real life—believes himself to be a gift to women, leaving behind a trail of broken hearts and ruined careers.

After years in the theater, I pivoted to the world of Film and TV, where I honed my craft as a Script Supervisor. For many years, I experienced screen visuals, action and storytelling and it became second-nature. When I retired from the movie industry, I began writing short stories and when my first story was published, I knew I had found my true calling and wrote a full-length book.

What is one message you would like readers to remember?

At its core, The Girl On Pointe is about the relentless dedication and sacrifice of a young dancer whose goal and passion is to perform on stage. I want readers to truly feel the sweat, the tears, and the unspoken challenges that come with pursuing such a demanding dream. Through Sarah’s journey, I hope readers are reminded that the path to stardom is paved with both triumphs and struggles, and that for a dancer, the choices of love, marriage, and family often take on a different meaning. It’s not just about personal desire, but about the balance between career and heart.
