On January 18, 2025, Beijing Yuanmeng Foundation was honored to collaborate with world renowned artist Fan Zeng and his wife Xu Meng for a charity press conference held at Crane Hall of Beijing International Club in China’s ancient capital. This event, attended by prominent figures from the arts, cultural sectors, and various diplomatic communities in China, marked a significant moment integrating art, philanthropy, and international goodwill.

As the Lunar New Year Festival approaches, Beijing Yuanmeng Foundation is proud to take part in China’s initiative aimed at supporting special needs groups with a special focus on the ‘Elderly Dining Table Program’ and medical rehabilitation for children with autism and leukemia; this charity initiative seeks to provide both immediate relief and long-term financial support.

Xu Meng, a passionate advocate for this cause, shared her vision at the press conference: “Through the creative expressions of my husband and myself, we aim to bring the attention and resources of society towards those in need. We aim to turn this attention into real, tangible help, offering strength and hope to individuals facing hardship.”

During the event, Fan Zeng and Xu Meng spoke about the inspiration behind their charitable endeavors and how art can serve as a bridge to social good. Hu Bo, Chairman of Beijing Yuanmeng Foundation, elaborated on the foundation’s ongoing projects for the “Sunrise and Sunset” program, explaining the scope of assistance and the transformative potential of such initiatives. His remarks emphasized the foundation’s deep commitment to fostering social responsibility and providing meaningful support.

A highlight of the event was the generous donation by Fan Zeng and Xu Meng. The couple contributed two masterpieces, Silence before the parrot and Lao Tzu exits the mountain pass, valued at 1.8 million RMB. The entire proceeds from this donation will be directed to the “Sunrise and Sunset” support programs, further strengthening its ability to make a lasting impact.

The event, set in the historic Crane Hall at Beijing International Club, provided guests with the opportunity to engage with the couple while appreciating the powerful intersection of art and charity. Crane Hall, a venue that has hosted countless important Chinese diplomatic and cultural events since its establishment in 1973, lent a special significance to the gathering, underscoring the foundational mission to promote people-to-people diplomacy and foster global cooperation through both art and philanthropy.

Following the event, Fan Zeng and Xu Meng spoke in an exclusive interview: “We hope that this charity program will serve as an opportunity to guide more social forces to focus on “Sunrise and Sunset” support work. Through our art’s influence, we aim to convey a love for life and living. At the same time, we hope to promote more interactions between China’s excellent traditional art and the international community, showcasing the new image, mission, and responsibility of modern Chinese artists to the world. We are grateful for the strong support and active participation from all parties. We will do what we can, offering our modest contribution to warm others, and also hope to inspire more friends to participate in charitable causes and the inheritance of art. As the Lunar New Year festival approaches, let’s join hands in creating a brighter and more hopeful future together.”

Beijing Yuanmeng Foundation remains steadfast in its dedication to nurturing compassion, artistic expression, and cross-cultural dialogue, continuing to work with communities both locally and globally to create positive change.
