Generation Z, born between the mid-1990s and early 2010s, has grown up in a rapidly changing world marked by technological advancement and globalization. This generation is highly diverse and inclusive, embracing people from various backgrounds and cultures. Gen Z possesses a strong entrepreneurial spirit, valuing the freedom to pursue their passions and chart their own life’s course. As innovative digital natives, they are adept at leveraging technology to drive change, creating new platforms and solutions that can revolutionize industries and improve global connectivity, constantly reshaping the world in their unique ways.
The year 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Over the past 75 years, China has transformed from a poor and backward nation into the world’s second-largest economy, achieving moderate prosperity across the board. Living standards have improved significantly, and great progress and numerous breakthroughs have been made in science and technology.
In celebration of this special occasion, GenZ Pop Quiz, a flagship street interview show of the Southern Finance Omnimedia Corp. International Communication Centre, and the Greater Bay Area Metaverse International Communication Lab (GBA MIC Lab), launched “GenZ Pop Quiz | GBA GenZ’s Memory of the Changing Times,” a special edition that invited five vibrant young people from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao to participate in an outdoor camping roundtable discussion.
Here, they compared notes on the profound changes that have taken place in China and the positive impacts brought by technological and social progress on their lives and careers.
Nestled amidst the lush greenery and bathed in the glorious sunshine, the five young people exchanged thoughts, laughed, and bonded with each other through their shared memories of the times, their passion for life, and their ardent love for the country.
Join us on a walk down memory lane, and get a glimpse into the stories and dreams of these young talents in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, who are not just bearing witness to, but also actively participating in the rise of China!
