Lambda Biologics, a German company mediating organoid-based animal alternative testing services, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with EU-KIST (European branch of Korea Institute of Science and Technology) in September for joint research and development cooperation in animal alternative testing. EU-KIST contributes globally to regenerative medicine, disease modeling, and drug development. Their organoid research plays a crucial role in disease studies and personalized medicine. Through this MOU, Lambda Biologics has taken a step forward as a hub for animal alternative testing.
Through this collaboration, both institutions will jointly research alternative testing methods following OECD’s 3R principles (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement). They will also integrate technologies and resources for developing animal biopharmaceuticals, jointly conducting target molecule discovery, preclinical research, and candidate drug development, while meeting global regulatory standards and implementing humane research methods.
Additionally, they will collaborate on joint research, regulatory strategy cooperation, and marketing activities for entering and expanding in European and Korean markets. Most importantly, they aim to establish regulatory approval procedures, manufacturing processes, and commercialization through joint efforts for new standards in organoid-based technology research and clinical applications.
Lambda Biologics also signed an MOU with CRTD (Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden) in January. CRTD has secured cell therapy GMP facilities within Europe’s largest regenerative medicine research center. With both facilities and extensive production experience, it has optimal infrastructure for ATORM market authorization in Europe.
Since launching its platform, Lambda Biologics (http://afs.lambda-bio.com) has upgraded as a hub for animal alternative testing, providing advanced services for researchers.
